Chic, rural Greece

Here at Happy Small Hotels, we have such experience when it comes to destinations, that we already know what the next big trend will be. After all the craze with exotic luxury ,the simplicity of Greece’s rural spots is what all the craze will be about, in the summer of 2024.

Happy Small Hotels invite you to explore the majestic nature and mellow weather of Greece, during the sweet month of October. The sea is still warm, and there’s a lot going on in these spots, so we definitely recommend you visit them now that the tourist season is low, and prices are super cool. Whether you travel alone or as a couple, a big group or a family, our holiday homes cover every need, style and type of getaway that will become the perfect backdrop for your autumn memories.

Go ahead, enjoy a first taste of our favorite destinations before you look through our careful selection of private houses:

The Peloponnese

From the archaeological sites of Mycenae and Epidaurus to the Venetian castles of Monemvasia, this region is packed with history, in every corner of its glorious natural landscape. Don’t forget to visit the small villages hidden here and there for some traditional flair, or the cosmopolitan towns such as Nafplion, for a bit of the good life. Food is amazing and there is always something to do around the Peloponnese, year-round.

Paros

Now that the island is quiet and nature is at its best, you can have the island and its charm all to yourself. Try scuba diving, herb picking and exploring the natural paths carved around Naoussa. The locals will welcome you and will sit down with you for a nice chat, if you are in the mood. Remember, after a hectic summer, this is also their chance to unwind…

Lefkada

Beautiful beaches, great food, a relaxing nightlife, the Ionian keeps on delivering in autumn. The island’s waterfalls are a great destination for hiking enthusiasts. If you feel like being even more active, cycling around the lagoon is a fantastic experience during this time of year.

Evia

A mountainous island impressively near Athens, Evia offers everything you are looking for, plus some extra bonus features: The ferry from Kymi town takes you straight to the nearby island of Skyros, and North Evia’s pine forests offer a great agrotourism setting, where horseback riding is a must.

Crete

An island rich in history and archeological finds, as well as sailing fun for all, and the best traditional food you have ever come across. One-day trips around the rural villages with a unique attitude will have you hooked to Crete forever.

Where will October find you?

Wherever you go, make sure you stay in a fantastic private house!
